Three of the Makes-Me-Wanna SHOUT! Chocolate Layer Cake Baking Challenge judges (Susan Reid of King Arthur Flour, restaurant and wine consultant Janet Cam (and co-founder of Washington’s Le Pavillon), and Eatonville owner Andy Shallal) shared their insights on what makes a good chocolate cake and advice for persons who want to become professional bakers and/or start a baking business just before the announcement of the finalists at the March 24th semifinals at Martha’s Table. The remaining semifinals judges were Martha’s Table board member Ana Anders, WUSA9’s J.C. Hayward, Flavor magazine editor Pamela Hess, and cookbook authors Brenda Rhodes Miller and Lisa Yockelson.
